Former Neshaminy High School star Chris Arcidiacono has signed a national letter of intent to continue his basketball career at Villanova in the 2019-20 season, the program announced Thursday.

Arcidiacono, a 6-foot-3 guard who played this past season at the Perkiomen School, is the brother of former Wildcats star Ryan Arcidiacono, who started a program-record 143 games and was a member of the 2015-16 national-championship team.

“We’re thrilled to welcome another Arcidiacono on to the court — they are always a part of the family,” Villanova coach Jay Wright said in a statement.

“Chris has worked tirelessly to develop his game and we know he understands the culture of our program as well as any recruit could. We look forward to working with Chris as he begins his own unique journey here at Villanova.”

Arcidiacono, a second-team all-state selection in his senior season at Neshaminy, averaged 20.0 points, 6.4 rebounds and 4.7 assists as a postgrad in his one season at the Perkiomen School.

Arcidiacono is the fifth member of the Wildcats’ freshman class for the fall. He joins a pair of McDonald’s All-America players, guard Bryan Antoine and forward Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, along with guard Justin Moore and forward Eric Dixon. Moore played at the Nike Hoops Summit, and Dixon, of Abington High School, was named Pennsylvania player of the year by USA Today.

The class is ranked in the top five by Rivals, 247Sports and ESPN.com.

Arcidiacono continues the family legacy at Villanova. In addition to his brother, his parents, Joe and Patty Arcidiacono, are Villanova graduates. His father played football for the Wildcats.
