Football: Coatesville's Jones to Coastal Carolina

Coatesville senior wideout Chris Jones has committed to play at Coastal Carolina.

The 5-foot-11, 165-pounder, an Inquirer first-team all-Southeastern Pennsylvania selection, also had scholarship offers from Temple and Massachusetts.

Jones, also a dangerous kick returner, visited Temple last weekend; he was at Coastal Carolina the weekend of Jan. 19-20; and he has scrapped a scheduled visit to UMass for next weekend.

In helping Coatesville advance to the PIAA Class AAAA state championship game, Jones posted 71 catches for 1,490 yards and 24 touchdowns.
