Pizza Hut to launch Hot Dog Bites Pizza this week

It might appear to be the Blue Rocks’ latest attempt to get butts in seats at Frawley Stadium, but no — as it turns out, Pizza Hut would like you to enjoy their Hot Dog Bites Pizza in the comfort of your own home.

It might appear to be the Blue Rocks' latest attempt to get butts in seats at Frawley Stadium, but no — as it turns out, Pizza Hut would like you to enjoy their Hot Dog Bites Pizza in the comfort of your own home.

Pizza Hut will debut their hot dog pizza in the US this week, rolling out that particular food monstrosity this Thursday for your eating pleasure (?). But don't worry too much — after all, Pizza Hut already rolled it out in places like Thailand, Australia, and the United Kingdom.

Pizza Hut's Hot Dog Bites Pizza is coming out now in America because, of course, it is "peak hot dog-eating season" at the moment, as a press release reads. Once the hot dog pie launches Thursday, Pizza Hut will run a sale putting its price point at $11.99. So that way, you won't have to break the bank to completely hate yourself.

"We definitely wanted to make this pizza unique compared to how it's been seen in other parts of the world, which is how we landed on offering the hot dogs as bite-sized, incorporating our crust flavors and offering the mustard on the side," said Pizza Hut's vice president of marketing, Jared Drinkwater, of the new pie.

Incidentally, however, Pizza Hut's idea may not be all that unique. Back in mid-May, minor league baseball team the Fresno Grizzlies introduced their own version called the "Frankenslice":

Still, though, the Frankenslice can't be delivered. Pizza Hut's version, on the other hand, is fully intended for at-home consumption.

Because, really, you aren't going anywhere after you finish one of these.
