Police have arrested the girlfriend of Peter Miles and charged her in the murder of the 59-year-old military veteran found Friday morning stabbed to death in his West Philadelphia rowhouse.

Carolyn Harris, 37, lived with Miles on the 5300 block of Poplar Street, police said.

On Friday morning, Miles' stepson went to check on him after he had not heard from Miles in a few days.

He found Miles in a second floor bedroom dead from stab wounds to the right side of his chest, police said.

Family and friends described Miles as a hard-working man proud of his military service.

Police would only say that a domestic argument led to the killing.

Harris has a long criminal history with nine previous arrests for crimes including assault, carjacking and prostitution.

In 1998, she served a year in prison for drug offenses. According to court records, Harris is currently on probation for a prostitution conviction.
