Eagles release WR Jonathan Krause

The Eagles released wide receiver Jonathan Krause on Friday, reducing the roster to 87 players before training camp begins next week.

Krause, 24, joined the Eagles practice squad last September and was promoted to the active roster in November. Former coach Chip Kelly praised Krause's practice performances and used him in the offense at times last season. Krause finished with two catches for 11 yards in two games.

A former teammate of Jordan Matthews at Vanderbilt, Krause also spent time with the Cleveland Browns and New England Patriots.

The Eagles now have 11 wide receivers on their roster for training camp.
