Pa. man charged with murder in shocking death

A York County man accused of electrocuting his wife during sex was charged yesterday with her murder, authorities said.

A York County man accused of electrocuting his wife during sex was charged yesterday with her murder, authorities said.

Toby Taylor, 37, initially told investigators that his wife was killed Jan. 23 as she stepped out a shower and reached for her hair dryer, police said.

Police found Kirsten Taylor, 27, unconscious in the couple's mobile home in Lower Windsor Township. She was rushed to York Hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The county medical examiner last week ruled her death was a homicide and determined the manner of death was electrocution.

Investigators didn't believe the husband's account, said Chief David Sterner of the Lower Windsor police. Police had noted several burns on her body.

After additional questioning, Taylor changed his story, Sterner said.

Taylor allegedly admitted that he and his wife used electricity to stimulate each other during sex. Taylor said he gave his Kristen a 15 second jolt of house current before she collapsed on the floor and stopped breathing. He gave her CPR and dressed her before calling police, said his attorney, Harry Ness.

Ness said Kristen Taylor's death was an "accident" and a "terrible tragedy" but was not murder.

H. Stanley Rebert, the York County District Attorney, said Toby Taylor used the electric current to intentionally kill his wife and tried to cover it up as an accident during a sex act.
