As Dawn Staley comes home to North Philly, 25th and Diamond is renamed Dawn Staley Lane | Mike Jensen

Staley's South Carolina Gamecocks, defending NCAA champs, are at Temple on Thursday. First, they stopped by her old haunt, the Hank Gathers rec center.

A portion of W. Diamond St, from 23rd St to 25th St., was renamed Dawn Staley Lane as Dawn Staley Day was celebrated at the Hank Gathers Recreation Center on Dec. 20, 2017. Her national championship South Carolina team will play Temple tomorrow.
